
About the Project
The Great Book of Gaelic, Leabhar Mòr, brought together more than 150 poets, visual artists, calligraphers and typographers from Ireland and Scotland to create what is often referred to as a modern day Book of Kells.
Shared Culture
The Great Book of Gaelic draws on the shared mythologies, culture, traditions and languages between Scotland and Ireland.
Post Publication
Since its launch in 2002, The Great Book of Gaelic has grown through various media related outlets including a website, audio CD, series of radio programmes, film documentary and high quality artbook publication.
Great Book Live
On 10th July, the Leabhar Mòr exhibition opened simultaneously in eight gallery spaces between the far north of the Outer Hebrides and the deep southwest of Ireland.
