Pròiseact nan Ealan and An Leanag are announcing the stars which will take part in Na Mo Chuid Aodaich and tickets are now available for the show which is to take place in Glasgow on Saturday 10th December.
The award-winning drama/fashion show is an extravagant exhibition of 20th century fashion on the catwalk, modeled by young members of the community. The fashion show is complemented with a drama, and the aim of a production of the highest quality is being realized with the acquisition of some of the leading lights in Gaelic drama including David Walker, Carina MacLeod, Mairi Morrison, Tony Kearney together with up and coming star, Rachel Kennedy.
The drama element of the show titled Aodach na Bainnse, is a period piece written by Christeen Combe under the guidance of Chrisella Ross. It depicts a light-hearted tale of two ladies in 1940s Glasgow, told with the distinctly Highland flavour of those migrants who made their living in the city in the previous century.
Duncan MacNeil, Drama Director commented that: “Rehearsals are going well and it’s a delight for me to have been given this opportunity to direct such a super little script together with a wonderful cast. They have been a pleasure to work with and I have high hopes for the success of the performance and the event as a whole.”
Carina MacLeod added “It’s an honour to be part of this award winning project and great to be given the opportunity to act along side Mairi Morrison, David Walker and Tony Kearney again.”
