2nd : Football commentary in Gaelic to return to radio

BBC Scotland's Gaelic radio service, Radio nan Gaidheal, will broadcast live commentary of next month's European Championship qualifying game between Scotland and France.

13th : £3m Gaelic Archive

A TREASURE trove of Gaelic and Scots audio material is to be saved for future generations through a £3m project launched yesterday It will produce an online digital archive of more than 12,000 hours of recordings in Gaelic and Scots, which have been stored on tape or even wax cylinders.

13th : GASD Press Launch

A panel of experts drawn together by the Gaelic Arts Agency, Pròiseact nan Ealan (PNE), will look at the idea of a national Gaelic Arts Strategy, at the way ahead for Gaelic music, and will seek the views of relevant stakeholders and the public on the future for the Gaelic arts.

24th : The Great Book of Gaelic in Derry

The travelling exhibition opens this evening in Derry at the Tower Museum.

24th : Launch of Leabhar Mòr Song CD

A new CD of classic Irish and Scottish Gaelic songs was launched at the Royal National Mod in Dunoon on Thursday 19th October last week.

24th : Wide Ranging Gaelic Music Report published at Mod

A major report looking at the future of Gaelic music was published on the18th October at the Royal National Mod in Dunoon. The report, commissioned by Pròiseact nan Ealan (PNE) – the Gaelic Arts Agency, was written by Dr Anne Lorne Gillies and is based on the findings of the ‘Iùl Ciùil: Gaelic Music’ Conference held in the Glasgow City Halls earlier this year.

4th : Gaelic Pub Quiz

Stornoway's first Gaelic pub quiz was held on the 4th October in An Lanntair by the Gaelic conversation group, Comhan Comhraidh.

A conference on Creating Partnerships in the Arts this November in Donegal

27th : Leabhar Mor in Dublin

The Leabhar Mor exhibition was on display in Dublin at Imram the Irish language literature festival earlier this month.

30th : Gaelic Search Engine

Using Google's Co-op service we have put together a search engine which emphasises the results from some Gaelic organisation's website.

31st : AMRA CHOLUIM CHILLE: DALLAN'S ELEGY FOR COLUMBA

The Verbal Arts Centre in Derry will host a stunning series of paintings by artist Brian Ferran based on the 6th century poem Amra Choluim Chille.
