7th : Connemara Ness Link Re-kindled
A group of young folk from Connemara will be descending on Ness at the end of July to take part in workshops and to learn about island culture. The Ness Connemara link goes back to 1999 when a large group of Nisich went over to the Emerald Isle on an exchange which saw the birth of Cèilidh san Iar Thuath and indeed Taigh Dhonnchaidh in the year 2000...
13th : Gaelic Arts Agency Shortlisted For a Scottish Event Of TheYear Award
Gaelic arts agency, Proiseact Nan Ealan (PNE), has been shortlisted for a major national award for their ‘Na Mo Chuid Aodaich’ fashion shows. They are nominated in the Best Small Events category at the prestigious Scottish Events of the Year Awards 2011. This is the second time that PNE has made the shortlist as The St Kilda Opera won Best Traditional Event in 2008...
